During the event, international partners involved in the project and its main aims have been presented to the population of Fermignano, by also emphasising the importance of being selected by the European Commission among many proposals to be financed through the Asylum Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). Eduardo Barberis explained that the project aims to build new models of participation through experiences, exchanges and experiments with the ambition to realise a handbook on integration to experiment initiatives and good practices. After the event, the mayor of Fermignano, Emanuele Feduzi, also commented on the project, by highlighting the enrichment that PISTE is bringing in a community that is already focusing a lot on diversity, as the long-lasting success of Popoli in Festa has shown.

PISTE may be ended, but other AMIF projects still work on similar topic. One of them is the EU-Belong project for an intercultural approach to migrant’s integration in EU regions.
