The proceedings of the PISTE mid-term Policy and Scientific Conference “Migrating in small- and medium-sized towns: experiences, challenges, perspectives for participation” are finally out in the second volume of the Migratowns series. The conference, that was held in Thessaloniki on 13th and 14th March 2023, gathered scholars and policymakers together to discuss about challenges and opportunities of migration in Small- and Medium-sized Towns, providing different standpoints and experiences on the topic. Such an approach also characterises the volume, published by Urbino University Press, which collects articles from both academic and policy experts with the aim to improve our understanding of the relation between migration and these localities. In this sense, this publication contributes to one of the main aim of the project, that is to bridge the gap between decision-makers, researchers, and local communities to collaboratively address migrants’ integration and create spaces for participation in these contexts. We thank again all contributors who shared their work with us, hoping that this will be just the beginning of a path which will bring Small- and Medium-sized Towns as immigration destinations at the core of the policy and academic debates.
