The PISTE project is about to conclude with the final event Experimenting migrants’ participation in small and medium-sized towns, which will take place in-presence in Brussels at the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rue de la loi, 26 on Wednesday 25th January 2024. The conference is meant to mainly address policymakers, experts and researchers at local and supra-local level to exchange policy experiences and practices about the participation of people from a migration background in Small- and Medium-sized Towns in Europe. If you want to join, please fill the form at the link above no later than the 23rd January 2024.
The event will start at 11:30 with the registration and welcome buffet, followed from 12:30 by the presentation of the main results from the PISTE project and a round table with experts to discuss them before the question time. After the break, the conference will go on with parallel work-groups to discuss and exchange good practices about civic and political participation of people from a migration background in Small- and Medium-Sized Towns in Europe, starting from the experiences of our partner municipalities. During the conference, the final output of the project, the White Paper on Immigrants’ Participation in Small- and Medium-sized Towns, will be presented and shared with participants. The book will also be soon published online through the Migratowns series in open access.
After two years of research and experimentation of local policies through participatory initiatives in all our partner municipalities, we look forward to share and discuss our results with all persons who are interested and worked on the topics touched by the project, both from policy and academic perspectives. Feel free to share the flyer and the registration form with all people you think can be interested in the event and check our official channels to remain updated about the conference and the White Paper.
