Within the context of PISTE Working Package 4, our German partners at FH Erfurt organised a series of co-writing workshops in Bebra with members of the local Integration Commission and representatives of local immigrant associations. The initiative produced a document- the Integration Mission Statement for Bebra – containing a framework for the improvement of Bebra’s local policies on integration through five main goals and related proposals and demands. These goals are: 1) Bebra will become safe and free from racism and discrimination; 2) Bebra will reduce barriers to integration; 3) Bebra will strenghten social cohesion; 4) Bebra will create places of encounters and promote dialogue; 5) Bebra will intensify committment and participation.
Now, this document is going to be voted on the 5th October 2023 in the Bebra local parliament, in which it was presented by the Integration Commission, exercising for the first time since its creation – two years ago – its right to submit motions. This is another great result for the PISTE project and for our German partners of FH Erfurt and Bebra municipality, witnessing the actual impact that AMIF projects can have at the local level when designing participative strategies and directly involving the interested population.
