We are pleased to announce that our Greek partner municipality Voio succeded in its application to the Asylum Migration Integration Fund for Greece, obtaining 1.171.200€ for the prosecution of its program of reception for unaccompanied female minors in the shelter of Pentalofos, one of the town composing the sparse municipality of Voio, which was also visited by PISTE partners during the mid-term event and which is at the core of the Greek policy experiment planned in the project. This success witnesses the effectiveness of this experience of reception and confirms its unicity, already present in the fact that the shelter of Pentalofos is the only reception centre for unaccompanied minors directly managed by a municipality in Greece. The fund will allow the shelter to function at least up to 2027, maintaing its capacity of 40 places for unaccompanied female minors over 10 years old. In a moment when new people are arriving in Greece – many of whom are unaccompanied minors – the renewal and improvement of this project appears as a great example of welcomingness.

PISTE may be ended, but other AMIF projects still work on similar topic. One of them is the EU-Belong project for an intercultural approach to migrant’s integration in EU regions.
