As PISTE Project, we are happy to relaunch the Handbook for Practitioners Integration of Newly Arrived Migrants in the EU, edited by Asya Pisarevskaya, Albert Kraler and Alex Webb in the context of the EU-funded project SPRING – Sustainable Practices of Integration.
The Handbook can be downloaded here, while more information on the SPRING Project are available at this link.
Despite not being specifically focused on Small- and Medium-Sized Towns, this book provides crucial recommendations for integration policy-makers at all levels , including civil society organisations and governments. Moreover, in addition to an overview of tools to be applied in this policy field, it also mentions relevant studies and projects within each one of the 11 selected themes. Particularly, the section “Participation, sport, arts & leisure” is of special interest for the aims of the PISTE Project and it points out challenges that we have also tried to address in our Policy Briefs. Finally, the handbook concludes with infographics and briefs about specific overarching themes, including a section about “Participation for Migrant Mothers: Barriers and Ways Forward”.
