Sharing practices and policies across borders is one of the main aims of the PISTE project.

This is why our fields have been selected in four different EU Member States: Belgium, Germany, Greece and Italy. Beyond the national differences, Bebra, Fermignano, Ninove and Voios all have in common three crucial characteristics.

They are:

  • Small or medium-sized towns;
  • At the forefront of processes of diversification and international immigration;
  • Willing to experiment policies to foster immigrants’ participation in the design;
  • Implementation and evaluation of incorporation policies;
